Meet Sissy! Sissy is a 1 year old lab/boxer mix, that was rescued from a deplorable situation, where she was left in a kennel in the basement, living in her own wastes. Since being removed from this environment and being placed in a loving home, she is blossoming into an amazing girl. Sissy is just so easy to love. She has trust issues, which is understandable when you remember her previous life. But once she figures out that she will be safe with you, she warms up quickly. Quick movements and loud noises cause her to startle, but once she knows that she won't be hurt, she comes right back to you. Sissy is great with kids and other dogs, small dogs require a slow introduction because she has not been exposed to many tiny babies. Non-aggressive dogs just means play time! She does well with women after an introduction, men still cause her to be timid and scared. Has not been aggressive towards anything, including chickens or goats, but is scared of aggressive large dogs. Sissy is very smart and learns quickly. She is treat motivated, but just as motivated by chin scratches and ear rubs. She knows sit, shake, kennel up, and waits to be told that she can exit her kennel. She knows to sit and wait to be told that she can eat from her bowl. She sits and waits for her paws to be wiped when coming inside. She uses the doggie door! She is house trained, you just need to learn the signs that she needs to go out. She does well with having her nails ground off to keep them short. She is working on leash walking and is doing well. Sissy loves to run outside, and loves to play. A fenced in yard would be perfect. Working on car rides, and does well once she is in the vehicle. She takes treats with a very soft mouth and knows she needs to sit and wait before getting one. But most of all she loves her person, and wants to be close at all times. There is nothing she loves more than sleeping close to her person at night. She has come so very far with her training, but is only getting started on want she can learn! She is fully vetted, spayed, and ready for her furever home. She will need time to learn that her new home will love her forever, which is exactly what this girl deserves. You will know you have achieved her trust when she rolls to her back for a tummy rub! And she will be your best friend for the rest of her days.
